Old Spice Man and Fake Old Spice Man Endorse Libraries

After a local Fox news station asked whether we really need libraries, the book lending institution needed a little support. And support it got. Thanks to the Old Spice Man, libraries just got a lot cooler. Not that they weren’t cool already.

As part of a project where the Old Spice Man responded to tweets with videos, he created the message above. If that’s not one hell of an endorsement for libraries, I don’t know what is.

And if you still need library love than check out the video below from faux Old Spice Man. He’s actually a college comedian promoting Brigham Young University’s Harold B. Lee Library. It seems to have attracted a bit of attention – more than 1.2 million people have viewed the video on YouTube so far. Yeah, it’s that good.

  1. I love these commercials. And I like the parody, though can you really parody something that is so humorous and weird in the first place?

  2. Yes, a friend sent around this parody and said it *almost* made her want to be Mormon!

  3. It’s been too long since a good youtube video has come into our lives….good work!
