I’m baaaaack! I’ve been to Florida, celebrated the New Year, and spent a lot of relaxing time on the couch, but I guess it’s about time I get back to the routine. On the upside, that means blogging for all of you again.
Over the break I didn’t read nearly as many books as I had hoped I would. I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Or my mind was bigger than my eyes. I’m not really sure how to make that metaphor work here.
Anyway, I started the week off right with a manuscript from work that I finished in just two days. I really liked the story and recommend it highly! However, the book doesn’t come out until next fall so I will wait until then to talk more about it. Then I moved onto our book club pick The Dovekeepers. Here’s where things slowed down. The Dovekeepers starts off slowly (with lots of wandering in the desert as Maggie has noted), but it does pick up and is actually quite interesting. Still, it is long and so I am still working on it.
So much for my plan to finish the Hunger Games series, get to The Submission and another book or two. However, I liked what I read so maybe I should just start the year grateful for quality over quantity.
Happy New Year everyone!
